Climbing to the shoulder of the highest ridge on the island, I took a detour off the path towards a tantalisingly dizzying cliff edge. I sat down to avoid being sucked over by the wind, and watched as light - and unearthly crepuscular rays - chased scattered waves northwards, defining and redefining the haggard edgescape of the mainland.
The sunlight reflected off the sea was blinding and captivating in equal measure: clouds shifted to reveal the myriad valleys along the tattered coastline, before swiftly returning them to single expanses of milky blue haze.
Spilled Sunlight was inspired by my second visit to the Isle of Eigg, a tiny island just off the west coast of Scotland, with an enormous and proud history.
