My very favourite hedge.
Ancient beech trees line the steep slopes of this valley. The wind is so strong that each one bends and sways dramatically over the road, their shapes permanently contorted by the elements.
Windswept is an homage to my favourite time of year to visit this hedge: when the first leaves are unfurling in spring. That acid green of fresh beech is so precious and bright: a promise of life to come.
