The End of the Day
The End of the Day
Edition of 50, hand pulled using oil based ink on Japanese Hosho paper.
I have kept the paper size deliberately small to allow the print to be easily posted. Printed area approx. 6” x 4”
A print inspired by, and all about, lockdown during the Coronavirus pandemic of 2020. After another long day of homeschool, I sat to watch the sun going down in the room which used to be my studio. Too tired to work, but frustrated enough to try, this self portrait was born of my need to create amidst the turmoil of the daily news bulletins, and the peace and tranquility to be found at the end of a long, but ultimately satisfying day.
I have come back again and again to the small things which now make up our daily lives, and for which I am truly thankful: the pots of seedlings lined up on our classroom windowsill, the warmth of sunlight, thinking space and good health
The End of the Day is sold unmounted and unframed, and will be posted in a reinforced envelope
